Summer Agricultural Institute
The Summer Agriculture Institute is a unique opportunity for Arizona school teachers of all levels to gain valuable knowledge of Arizona's agriculture community. Every year, the University of Arizona Maricopa County Extension office plans a week-long tour with help from various agriculture representatives including the Arizona Beef Council. Among many other stops showcasing agricultural across the state, this year the Arizona Beef Council focused on the beef community and set up stops for many stages of the beef cattle’s lifecycle including Heiden Land and Cattle (Buckeye, AZ), Groseta Ranch (Cottonwood, AZ) and a presentation from the Diablo Trust. Each year teachers must apply to attend the tour and the resounding response this year was whittled down to 30 deserving people. The enthusiasm most held for the agriculture community upon completion of the tour ensured the knowledge they gained would be past to their students.
