Arizona Beef Council Announces Launch of Route 66 Beef Trail Pass to Celebrate Historic Highway’s Centennial

Phoenix, Arizona - The Arizona Beef Council is proud to announce the launch of the Route 66 Beef Trail Pass, a free interactive digital passport designed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Route 66 while highlighting the rich beef heritage found along America’s most iconic highway. 

Launching in celebration of the Route 66 Centennial, the Route 66 Beef Trail Pass invites travelers, food lovers, and history enthusiasts to experience the Mother Road in a whole new way. The digital passport encourages visitors to explore legendary steakhouses, authentic barbecue restaurants, historic landmarks, and unique roadside events and attractions that showcase the deep connection between Route 66 communities and America’s beef community. 

Participants can sign up for the free mobile pass and check in at featured destinations along Route 66 to earn points, unlock prizes, and discover some of the best beef experiences the historic highway has to offer.  

“We are excited to celebrate Route 66’s 100th birthday by highlighting beef dishes and scenic stops along the world-famous byway,” shares Arizona Beef Council Executive Director Lauren Maehling. "While on their great adventures, Arizonans and visitors alike will enjoy some of Arizona’s best beef dishes while learning about the cattle ranching history in northern Arizona.” 

Travelers who check in at participating locations can earn Route 66 Beef Trail prizes such as commemorative stickers, collectible merchandise, and other centennial-themed items. Participants will also have the opportunity to compete for four grand prize Route 66 travel packages, encouraging visitors to explore even more destinations along the historic route. 

The Route 66 Beef Trail Pass features destinations across all eight Route 66 states - Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California - connecting travelers with iconic restaurants and historic sites that capture the spirit of the Mother Road. 

The program will run through September 30, 2026, helping drive tourism to local communities while celebrating the cattle ranchers and beef farmers who continue to play an important role in the culture and economy of the region.
