Preparation:
- Mix ground beef and Worcestershire sauce lightly, but thoroughly. Lightly shape into twelve 1/2-inch thick patties.
- Combine sauce ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Place pineapple on rack in broiler pan so surface of pineapple is 3-4 inches from heat. Broil 3-4 minutes, turning once, and brushing with sauce. Remove pineapple and set aside.
- Place patties on rack in broiler pan so surface of beef is 3-4 inches from heat. Broil 7-8 minutes to medium doneness, until not pink and center and juices are claer, turning halfway through. Brush with sauce during cooking. Season with salt to taste.
- Cut pineapple slices into thirds.
- Layer split rolls with lettue, burger, pineapple, and top roll. Repeat for each.
