Cattle prices have been good and consumers continue to enjoy the beef you produce. However, statistics and numbers demonstrate we are in a period of increasing beef production. This period of increased production requires an equal or greater increase in demand to keep prices stable or increasing.
The Arizona Beef Council's Marketing Plan provides for increasing beef demand. This flyer is designed to incrase aareness during this period of increased production and to highly your Beef Checkoff efforst to increase beef demand during this period. We hope this flyer is useful in bringing about awareness to the current beef supply and demand equiation. For more information, you can call the ABC Office at (620) 273-7163. |

American beef production has increased in the last two years and will continue to increase. Just in the month of May, feedlots posted a record of 11.6 million cattle, which is a 9% increase from last year alone. This may lead to overproduction of live cattle and beef unless our export market is utilized. |

Beef supply along with production is extremely high, and with basic economics, we can speculate a fall in price due to overproduction. Thankfully, we have the demand to keep prices high and maintain profits, but as producers, feeders, and packers, we must be proactive with our decision-making for a possible diminishing market. |

Consumer populations and the demand for beef are increasing. It is easy to conclude that consumer demand and cattle prices have been at record levels. However, margins will only be this good in the future if the demand for beef continues to increase at the same rate as the production. |
